Six Easy & Effective Ant Prevention Tips For Hildale Property Owners
Ants are some of the most common insects found in and around Hildale homes. At one time or another, we all have or will deal with these pests. Ants are social, live together in large groups, and can maintain multiple nesting sites, making preventing problems difficult. Ants have learned that people equal food, which they need to survive! To help you turn your Utah home into somewhere ants don’t want to live, we have put together a list of six easy and effective ant prevention tips.
- Create a barrier between mulch and garden beds and your foundation; doing so will make it more difficult for ants to find their way to your home.
- Regularly inspect your home’s exterior looking for cracks in the foundation that they could easily slip through.
- Check your windows and doors, replacing damaged weatherstripping, screens, and door sweeps to help keep ants out.
- Hungry ants often visit trash cans, compost containers, and recycling bins. Keep lids on these containers, storing them away from the outside walls of your home to avoid attracting ants to your house.
- In your home, properly store food. Place food in airtight contains or the fridge to reduce food odors that attract ants.
- Crumbs often wind up in hard-to-reach areas that ants can access. These crumbs will keep these pests coming back to your home. Regularly clean out behind large appliances like refrigerators and stoves, vacuum under furniture, and try to limit eating to certain areas of your home.
If you see ants in or around your home, don’t delay in getting help; reach out to Miche Pest Control today!

Four Easy Ways To Keep Scorpions Away From Your Hildale Home
While some of the scorpions in Hildale are a mere nuisance, others can be very dangerous or they can attract more serious pest issues. In order to keep them away from your home, try these four quick tips:
- Eliminate areas of standing water. One of the most appealing features of a property to scorpions is stagnant water, so be sure to turn over kiddie pools regularly, flush out water from outdoor gear, and don't allow water to pool up in flower pots.
- Keep a clean yard. Like many other pests, scorpions are lured to dark and cool hiding spots that harborage areas readily provide them. This makes trimming hedges and getting rid of the trimmings, raking leaf piles, and properly storing firewood so important.
- Fix leaks. Another key way to prevent scorpions is to make sure that gutters, pipes, and spigots are not leaking.
- Seek professional help. It’s important to not engage with scorpions, which is why seeking assistance from your local pest expert is a must. These services can address the many reasons why scorpions appear as well as prevent future issues.

Hildale's Complete Guide To Effective Spider Control
To keep spiders out of Hildale homes, there are certain steps that locals must follow. These steps will also go a long way in keeping other pests like ants, cockroaches, and flies away. Here are the must-follow tips for deterring spiders today:
- Be conscientious about the yard. Spider attraction starts in the backyard, so store firewood at least 25 feet away from the home, clear away brush, don’t overwater the lawn, and limit the use of mulch.
- Dry everything out. Water sources are key when it comes to attracting spiders and their prey, so make sure that there is no moisture damage, basements are free from humidity, crawl spaces are well ventilated, pipes are in good working order, and bathtubs aren’t left to drip.
- Keep things clean. It’s very important to maintain a hygienic environment inside the home by cleaning up after meal time, disinfecting surfaces routinely, and never missing a trash day.
- Seal openings. A key way to actually keep spiders outside is by inserting door sweeps where there are gaps, applying weatherstripping to loose doors and windows, and filling cracks in foundations with expanding foam.
- Call the pros. When it comes to dealing with spiders, it’s necessary to take a broad approach that can only come with the help of a pest control expert.

Why Choose Year-Round Pest Control In Hildale
Professional pest control is one of the wisest investments that Hildale residents can make to protect your health and property. When you work with a professional, you’re benefiting from years of experience and training, products that you cannot purchase yourself, and a pest-free guarantee that a store can’t offer either. There are also some pests, like cockroaches, centipedes, and rodents, that use sewer systems to enter homes, and preventing them is nearly impossible without proper intervention.
Pest control in Hildale is the most reliable way to address pests, no question. And when you enroll in year-round services, you always have someone to look after your property and actively repel problematic pests, rather than always reacting to issues. But more specifically, professional pest control helps to keep you protected from health risks such as Lyme disease that ticks can cause, E. coli infections or giardia that comes with cockroaches, or venomous spiders like black widows. There is also the benefit of less property damage, which pests such as rodents and termites are known to cause, which can result in crumbling foundations and ruined insulation.
