Can German Cockroaches Fly?
German cockroaches do have wings. However, despite having wings, they are not strong fliers. German cockroaches are more known for their ability to run quickly, and while they can glide short distances, they typically prefer to stay hidden in cracks, crevices, and other sheltered areas. The wings are most often used for gliding when they need to escape danger, but flying is not their primary mode of movement.
Additionally, only adult German cockroaches have wings, and even then, their flight is limited. The wings cover most of their body, but they do not provide the same level of flight capability as other cockroach species like the American cockroach.

Moving Between Spaces: In some cases, if a German cockroach is on a vertical surface and needs to move to another surface or area (like a nearby countertop or shelf), it might use its wings to glide across the gap. However, they don’t often do this in open spaces like other species that can fly over long distances.
